3rd Grade 3/26/21

 Scholars, please continue your review of Christopher Columbus. We will spend one more week studying idioms and sayings! Please continue to reinforce what is being learned in school at home. 

Scholars will continue to discuss measurements of time. We will add and subtract time in compound units. We will review and test. Finally, we will end our week discussing seconds, months, and years. Please give your scholar opportunities to tell time with both digital and analog clocks. 

This week, we will begin exploring parts of the eye and ear. Here is a riddle for you scholars, can you solve it?  I reflect off objects and enter your eyes. I bend to help you see. Your sight depends on me. What am I?

Scholars, thank you for your hard work and dedication all week! We will have a review starting Monday, continue on Wednesday, and a test on Friday. Please review the flashcards that will be sent home on Monday.

3rd Grade 3/19/21

Thank you for your beautiful Pocahontas recitations! This week, we will put the saying “actions speak louder than words” into practice. We will also review pronouns in grammar and dictation during writing. 

This week we will review and have a cumulative test. We will start our unit on time. Please have your scholar practice telling time with both a digital and analog clock. 

This week, we will continue to explore the human body. We have learned about the skeletal system, the muscular system, and the nervous system, what other systems can be found in the human body?

This week, we will continue to learn about exploration.

3rd Grade 3/5/21

Scholars, thank you for another beautiful week! Please continue to practice Pocahontas as our recitation is 3/19/21. When you come back from break, know that we will be studying idioms and sayings daily! Parents, feel free to incorporate the phrase “the show must go on” at some point over the break. We will see if the scholars pick up on the meaning when introduced in class upon return! 

When we return from Spring Break, scholars will review fractions of a set before taking an assessment. Scholars will explore fractions of money and take an assessment on fractions of money. I highly encourage scholars to count money over Spring Break.

Scholars, thank you for your hard work! When we return, we will be beginning our new unit on the human body. 

When we return, we will begin our new unit on Exploration. This unit will take us through the remainder of this school year. A special guest may be visiting when we return!
