3rd Grade 12/18

 

Have a wonderful break! Please have your copy of Pinnochio (ISBN: 9781463714413) ready upon return and don’t forget to practice Casey at the Bat. 

We will be diving into 9 x tables. Please practice and memorize them at home! Scholars are expected to multiply and divide up to 4-digit numbers with ease!

The Vikings are coming! The Vikings are coming! We will begin a new unit on the Vikings. Scholars will learn about Viking longships, Viking culture, and learn about Ragnarok.


We will continue our unit on Habitats. We will continue to focus on fossils.

3rd Grade 12/11/20

Scholars, this week we will study Casey at the Bat. We will also celebrate finishing Little House on the Prairie by building our own log cabins! In Grammar, we will continue analyzing sentences to find Direct Objects. 

We will multiply and divide 4-digit numbers by 8! Scholars should memorize multiplication facts up to the 8 x table. Please practice multiplication facts at home. This is vital to their success! After the break, we will continue with the 9x! 


This week we will end our unit on Ancient Rome. Scholars will have one last lesson on Monday, a review on Wednesday and the unit assessment will be on Friday. 


In science, scholars will have a fun activity digging up “fossils.”  DL scholars will need some supplies to do this activity. They will need dirt, a container, paintbrushes, beads, feathers, or items they can “dig up.” Later in the week scholars will discuss the types of fossils and how they are made.

3rd Grade 12/4

Scholars, this week we will study Casey at the Bat and finish Little House on the Prairie! We will continue analyzing sentences to find Direct Objects. Thank you for your Robert Frost recitations. 

We will multiply and divide 4-digit numbers by 7. Scholars should memorize multiplication facts up to the 7 x table. Please practice multiplication facts at home. This is vital to their success! 


In history, this week scholars will explore Pompeii and its hidden treasures that tell us about Roman life. We will discuss Christianity in the Roman empire and the decline of the Roman Empire. 


In science, we will discuss ecosystem problems, solutions, and how living things respond to change.
